Mrs. Woodley creates critically-acclaimed solo theatrical performances based on topics clients requests. Ms. Woodley’s journalism career includes work for CNN News and NPR affiliate station WUNC-FM with accolades spanning 20 years, which include an Emmy award. Healthy Lifestyle Choices & Health Foods with Great-Grandma

This fun, engaging and interactive performance transforms students perspectives about healthy foods. Through this theatrical performance students also learn how to make healthy lifestyle choices and are taught financial literacy, about food deserts, how to navigate grocery and corner stores, agri-business, vegetable preparation and healthy food purchasing habits. Anita Woodley appears as her 100-year old Great-Grandma to educate students, while interacting in real time with the audience, through non-traditional theater about fruits, vegetables, healthy nutritional foods and lifestyle choices.

Flipping the Script on Your Self-Esteem: Writing a Powerful Future/Stories Come To Life!

Stories Come to Life Residency is a successful, lively literary arts residency where students write and share personal narratives of transformation and triumph. This refreshing and comfortable approach uses improvisation, humor, and culturally appropriate characterizations to engage the young writers, putting them at ease to share aloud. Students will participate by brainstorming drafts, getting feedback from peers, and utilizing the multiple steps to writing a final product to publish. The outcomes of this literacy residency are unique stories with a different mood and flare, unveiling each student’s inner storyteller.

Maximum Participants: 35

Residency Fee$187.50 per class/hr.

*includes one-on-one theatrical/improvisation student needs based instruction, culturally relevant subject matter;  material/printing are additional costs (to publish student writings into books).
