A native of Durham, NC, she grew up attending the summer arts programs offered at the Durham Arts Council. Through these classes she was able to express her stories through various mediums, but video and film would be her favorites. In 2008, she graduated with a B.A. in film and video production from UNC-Greensboro. Today, she is completing a M.F.A. in dramatic writing from the Savannah College of Art and Design. TV Writing “Beat Sheet”

TV Writing will teach students the exciting information and skills needed to write for their favorite television shows. Students will learn the fun and challenging process of screenwriting through presentations, script reading, and interviews. The classroom will mimic a Hollywood writing room, where students will share their creative ideas, and help others develop their own. By the end of the residency each student will have a “beat sheet” or detailed outline of a script for an original episode of their favorite TV show. 2 – 4 day program.

Duration: 45-60 minutes

Residency Fee: $62.50 per class/hr.

TV Writing

The TV Writing workshop will teach students the basic knowledge and skills used by Hollywood writers today. Students will also learn the people and roles behind every successful series. After watching a popular half-hour TV show, students will be able to identify previously discussed components present in all shows. Join us as we explore the art of storytelling through the fun and challenging medium of screenwriting! Additional resources will be shared with students interested in learning more about screenwriting. 75 minutes.
