Introduction to Yoga & Mindfulness
Y.O.G.A. for Youth classes provide a fun, active, and empowering introduction to the art and science of yoga. With an emphasis on stress-reduction and emotional regulation, students learn postures, breathing exercises, and relaxation techniques. Through collaborative discussion, students develop applications to their daily lives. The Y.O.G.A. for Youth curriculum has been shown to improve physical health, self-esteem, scholastic aptitude, and behavioral stability. After a yoga class, teachers report that students are calmer, more focused, and ready to learn.
