Fanciful & Functional Artist Books: Create, Write, Illustrate
During weeklong residencies, students design paste papers for book covers, learn how to fold a text block, and assemble both into a book. Then the artist will lead students through the creative writing process, either based on curriculum or another relevant subject. This results in an original narrative or poem, which students transpose into the book and illustrate with drawings and collage. On the last day, each student will have a handmade artist book to take home and treasure for years to come. *Minimum 3 days needed for residency experience.
Special Requirements (Space, Tech, Volunteer): Classroom setting is sufficient; volunteers are welcome.
Maximum Participants: 25
Residency Fee: $87.50 per class/hr.
