Ramya S. Kapadia

Ramya S. Kapadia is a Bharatanatyam dancer & choreographer, and a Carnatic vocalist & composer (South Indian classical dance & music forms). Ramya has toured all over the United States & abroad to present solo & group works. Ramya works with artists, scientists and scholars, who all share her belief that art can and should tell stories that move audiences to becoming compassionate human beings. REQUEST RAMYA KAPADIA

Performance
Bharatanatyam – Expression through Movement & Mime

To be human means to be able to express oneself- a key aspect of Bharatanatyam, (a 2000 year old classical dance form of South India). We will learn stories that have lessons on life through movement & mime.

Max Participants: 200

Duration: 60 minutes

Special Requirements: Dance floor/stage/ non-carpeted floor, Mic with a stand to speak into, PA system to play music off a laptop. If possible, projector

Residency
Self Expression through Bharatanatyam Dance, Movement & Mime

Learn about life and self-expression through the 2000 year old dance language of Bharatanatyam (a classical dance form of South India) 2 days needed for residency (minimum).

Max Participants: 25

Duration: 60 minutes, 2 days needed for residency (minimum).

Special Requirements:
Non carpeted floor/dance studio, PA system for music, 1 or 2 volunteers to help supervise/hand out materials
