Yholima is a native of Colombia. Since a very young age, Yholima was intrigued and inspired by Colombian art through her mother After moving to Canada in 1997, Yholima became a recognized choreographer, founder of Asi es Colombia Dance Group and an ambassador for diversity Since her arrival to the USA in 2007, Yholima has continued teaching, choreographing and performing folk Latin American dances in North Carolina. Latin American Dance: Let Your Body Surprise YOU!

It consists on performing a tailored Latin American folk dance. Participants will learn steps based on dance performed earlier. Participants will learn cues in Spanish as they learn. When ready students will perform their own dance in front of the audience to showcase what has been learned. This performance enriches the audience experience while introduces them to new cultural expressions, healthful living and it allows the audience to become active learners and performers themselves

Special Requirements: Space to perform/practice and sound system with connection to Ipod are needed. Size of space depends on number of participants. Wooden floor ideally.
