Jeannette Brossart, has been a professional mosaic artist since 2003. Her work includes public murals, sculpture, and custom installations. Jeannette has received numerous awards, appeared in publication, as has facilitated over 100 workshops and residencies for participants from preschool to senior citizens. Jeannette is a professional teaching artist, selected for the 2018 International Teaching Artist Conference, The Lincoln Center Education in 2016, as well as facilitated customized residencies for multiple school systems and Art Councils. Residency
Pixel Tile Mural

A mosaic tile mural will be developed and created using simple software and square tiles only. Artist will lead students through the design process, and the mural image will be assembled pixel style to produce a permanent mural project. Multiple sessions required including introduction, computer session, assembly.

Special Requirements: introduction requires technology to project from flash drive, computers/internet for students for design session, tables for assembly

Workshop
Pixel Tile Math

Students will develop creative thinking skills for understanding pixel tile art utilizing a square tile as a base unit while practicing math concepts in this hands on program per appropriate skills such as patterning, array, area, perimeter, fractions. 

Max Participants: 30

Duration: 60 minutes

Special Requirements: Students will be working in pairs or threes on one grid tray, tables best, or may need to arrange desks in order to share.

Fee: $150 per class for hands on activity (60 min).
*Photos are welcome, but all materials are returned to artist at end of activity. Please note if a permanent tile artwork is desired pricing varies (see mosaic mural listing/contact artist for more information).

Residency
Mosaic Mural

Students will learn about mosaic art and create a mosaic mural with actual materials. Curriculum objectives and collaboration is welcome. Projects vary widely, artist is experienced and eager to customize this residency to your needs, objectives, and budget.
